About the Artist

Romy Leonides was born in Guam and spent her childhood in Southern California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 2005. In the spring of 2010, Romy earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute and moved to New Orleans where she currently resides. Romy spent the last several years consulting and collaborating with writers, artists, and design firms on various projects in the New Orleans. She was an art buyer and designer for the University Medical Center project while working for p-l-a-i-d, inc. Most recently, she worked as the managing editor and media director on “New Orleans and the World” tricentennial book publication. Romy currently works in her warehouse art studio which she renovated in the spring of 2018 where she now devotes herself full-time to her painting practice.
